Thanks for that leg work! Reasonable conclusion. Might lead an insider to strongly believe in ubiquity.

Interesting indeed forz..

I am intrigued as you note (*see below) lots of new patents including EO Polymer.

If I may forz..., are they device applications using a preexisting EO Polymer or are they patents for new EO Polymers?.

Do foundries create patents for their PIC Processes? Such that a preexisting EO Polymer would be part of the foundries PIC recipe and utilizing this EO Polymer by said foundry is a patentable process?

You said

"3. OBSERVATION ONLY (perhaps my imagination?)
While surfing other Vendor's patents I noticed that the term "Electro-Optic Polymer" comes up in many other vendors' patents. Does this mean that they are all using LWLG/Perkinamine? NO/MAYBE SOME... but it does mean that the industry considers and is including electro-optic polymers as viable solutions in the field of photonics. There is certainly enough belief out there from major players to include in their patents alongside the other usual materials that have been used. So it all hinges on who has the best/lowest cost, available (producible) EO Polymer.
Also interesting to note that the applications are many, not just DCI and Telecomm as has been targeted by LWLG.
Some of these other patents are from familiar names, MACOM, Global Foundries, Fujitsu, Advanced Micro Foundries, Michigan Tech, Several from Japanese technical institutes, etc.
Maybe it means something for LWLG, or maybe not, but to me, it indicates a constant/growing acceptance of electro-optic polymers as a solution for a myriad of opportunities and patents"

Update on 3 Patents: ( all good) Paperwork seems to have been corrected and the patents continue to move forward, although slightly delayed due to paperwork.

1. Patent App# 16/573257 was allowed and fees were paid. Missing paper work has been provided. It should still be issued in 2022, probably in early November.

"ELECTRO-OPTIC POLYMER DEVICES HAVING HIGH PERFORMANCE CLADDINGS, AND METHODS OF PREPARING THE SAME"

2. Patent App# 16/867,262 was allowed on August 26, 22 and corrected drawings have been supplied. The new due date from the USPTO office for paying the fee is 3 Jan 2023. So this patent should be issued in Jan/Feb 23.

"ACTIVE REGION-LESS MODULATOR AND METHOD"

3. Patent App# 7/335,375 was allowed 4 Aug 22. Dues have been paid early ( vice due date of 4 Nov). Should be officially issued in Dec 22.

HYBRID EO POLYMER MODULATOR WITH ALD SEALANT LAYER

Finally, the USPTO website has been redesigned... taking me a while to learn the new system.

As always, GLTA!
