I have no doubt that Putin is using oil as one of his weapons. If he can freeze or worry Europeans about freezing this winter they will stop the boycott.
Incidentally I read an interesting book over 20 years ago and now reading it again. It is much more timely now with Russia having invaded Ukraine. "Red Storm Rising." Tom Clancy. One of my favorite authors.
