#113988 RE: MeghanStar #113976

I went back to see what was said about solving the 'Holy Grail' poling problem. The company did acknowledge that there were obstacles - to their credit - but they also seemed to greatly downplay the significance of those obstacles, continuing to project quick solutions and near term large commercialization.

One of the more recent messages from Dr Lebby is that the big boys want testing, testing, and more testing, and numbers, numbers, numbers. If they indeed have finally solved the poling problem the big boys will want validation, validation, validation...seems to me that can take quite a long time, and will involve more than just in-house testing, and one result. Perhaps this is why the directors exercised their options for cash at the beginning of the year -- perhaps they knew this is a longer term game..and any announcement before year end will still take a long time to turn into significant revenues.

On a more cynical note, the move to Nasdaq was not validation of their technical progress, imo it was strictly a result of a successful share price increase due to expectations raised by the company. But as the post you questioned showed - there is a history of expectations raised and never met, by Lightwave management.. Maybe Dr Lebby is different than Mr Marcelli, but...they both got those gigantic bonuses..

My most cynical view is about the bonuses. I think it was unconscionable for the top 2 guys to have taken the money before their claims have been validated in the real world by others. That's just my opinion.

In case I'm wrong, I've got those out-of-money call options. Because I have those, I hope most of all that they do have a great announcement.

But, deep down I really don't believe it. I think it is most likely that they have not found the Holy Grail (or it is closer but not there yet) and that is why investors are so in the dark that they are grasping at any glimmer of hope - a look, or smile, or voice inflection..etc..I suspect the large short position is held by those who feel similarly, though it may just be math -- high valuation/no revenues, but surely some of those large shorters have done their homework to bet so much money against them.
