I almost bought a previously owned but rarely worn Daytona from a friend of a friend but abandoned that buy when I saw that the top fakes replicate even the movements to such detail that I would not be sure it was genuine without first taking it to Rolex.

I feel pretty confident that your “Rolex” with peeling paint is bogus :-)
