#1699 RE: gfp927z #1698

I had some United Technologies that splintered into Raytheon, Carrier and Otis. The latter two soared initially but have settled back. Raytheon has been a major beneficiary from the Ukraine war. All have increased their divs regularly. For example, Carrier now pays $0.15 a Q, about double from 18 months ago.

Buffett has designed BRK so the parts work in harmony, especially the energy holdings in BHE where the whole is likely much more valuable than the parts. Also I understand there would be huge tax bills if the company were broken up.

Buffett, even at age 91, still adds value to BRK. Currently the company is mostly run by Greg Abel who is 60, a CPA and head of BHE.
