Bar, With Berkshire, there will be growing uncertainty over what happens after Buffett is gone. For decades the conglomerate model has been dwindling in general, in favor of a more focused approach. The pieces of BRK could be worth more individually, but if you end up owning dozens of stocks as a result of a breakup, I worry that this will get messy from an accounting and tax perspective.

When United Technologies was broken up after the Raytheon merger, that worked out great and was fairly simple, with only a few new entities. But a breakup of Berkshire may be an accounting nightmare for existing shareholders. That's mainly why I chose to not own BRK itself. It would be different if Buffett was younger :o)
