Bar, Thanks. Looks more like the ~23% range, based on 911 mil shares of Apple owned by BRK (end of Mar), currently worth approx $150 mil, and Berkshire's current market cap of $645 bil.
Still a big position, but a lot less 'alarming' than 43% :o)
Looks like Occidental may be the next big addition to the BRK stable, with BRK's position up near 20%. Fwiw, I wasn't too fond of their founder (Armand Hammer), so never really followed OXY.
With alternate energy destined to take over, Buffett appears to be getting into a dying industry. But the transition will take a long time, and the lack of new oil/gas exploration should keep prices elevated.
Probably best not to second guess the Oracle :o)
