The only reason those corporations are not using plastics is because the government wont allow them too. Once the governments know the global plastic recycling issue is resolved those restrictions will be lifted. Paper products kill forest, plastics dont.
Plastics is the cheapest most affordable solution for companies to use to put products and goods in. Allowing customers and companies to choose the cheap plastic alternatives will yeild bigger margins for companies and lower prices for consumers. To think plastics will go away is silly... They wont. The plastic recycling issue is resolved now and once products are deployed by CLNV we will see the environmentalist in the global community lift the restrictions.
