I agree with you…. it was cost effective to have China package & ship.
Cost of shipping has risen ten fold over the past year.
The average shipping cost of a 20 ft / 40 ft container increased from an average cost from $6,000 to over $16,000.
I’m in the import / export business in the NY / NJ Newark, Port Elizabeth Terminals.
There are major issues with the shipping ports across the country.
They are not only having a backlog problem unloading the inbound ships, they are now having a problem with the empty containers being return that now need to be scheduled to return do to lack of space at the ports.
Companies are forced to pay huge demurred charges.
Sad to say our countries companies are being squeezed on both ends.
They may need to rethink the cost of shipping and bulk deliver via airfreight and package here. I’m sure it will be cheaper
to ship and much quicker.
Maybe this could be the reason DonJoy shipping backlog that was mentioned on the board.
We need to say…. MADE IN THE USA !!
Maybe Biel is on it already.
