#202225 RE: rocketeer357 #202221

Chapmen, has lost velocity, with pitchers like this you always have to ask can they make the transition from thrower to pitcher. Not saying he can't but so far, it hasn't worked.

I would have never dumped Glyber or stanton, I kept saying glyber need to play 2b, and playing SS was messing up his bat. In fact I was the one saying they needed to keep glyber and put him at 2b. As for stanton I never been anti stanton he can hit.

As for Hicks, not a huge fan always injured, and not that great of a player. As for Gallo I thought he was gonna be a thousand times better. And in fairness Gallo Rangers and Gallo Yankees are two different players, gallo had almost 200 more point of OPS in his ranger career than his 2022 OPS. So to be like this is the guy the yanks were suppose to get, it was more Like Jason Bay Pirates/Red Sox to the mets, that is the comp, they litterally there performance fell off a cliff as soon as they came to NY.

Of course you should be more confident with the brewers, the braves and the mets are about 1000 times better than the cardinals and the brewers combined. I mean the Cards are 5 games over 500, and they will play 57 games against Cubs, Pirates, and Reds and they are right now just 5 games over 500. Just 5. They stink. The brewers are a little better because I like there pitching, but there lineup makes the mets lineup look like the 1927 Yankees, which they get 0 from catcher, and the DH, and there 3b has been very disappointing.

They won't do it, But Really they should get all of the following and than I believe they will hold off the braves, Contrearas/Robertson/Drury/ And another reliever. As of right now I don't see them holding off the braves, there bullpen is too weak right now it didn't help the one guy I was getting excited about they traded away. They don't have a dh that hits LH pitching there offense from 3b is shaky at best, there bullpen can use some help, and they get 0 offense from catcher.

If they are not gonna bring up Alvarez even if Nido goes down. Than Contreras should be the number 1 target. Doubt nats are trading Soto to the mets, in fact I heard the Nats don't want to trade with the mets, so clearly that means bell is also off the table as well if that is the case.

So to me contreras is the bat we need, he destroys LH pitching. Right now I think the braves have a better offense and Bullpen, the only thing the mets do better is there starting pitching and the defense for the mets last night not withstanding is very good with the mets.

Hopefully May comes back healthy he might help. Because I don't trust Lugo, I want Joely Rodriguez dfa'd than again that would leave them 0 lefties in the pen. Drew Smith and Ottovino are about the best they have to offer to get to diaz, to say they need better is truthful.

Thing is the answer Might be Megill and Peterson in september if they get there with degromm healthy and everyone else healthy, because I would trust them more than anyone not named diaz right now.

The braves though it is hard to ignore look at there schedule since June 1rst do they ever play anyone good. They play team under .500 after team under 500. Wether it is the red, the pirates, the dback, The rocks, tons of the nats, the A's. I mean they seen them all one after another. That is part of this hot streak look at there schedule since June 1rst when ever they faced a team with any challenges, they lost 2/3 dodgers they lost 2/3 to the mets, but the rest of these teams most of them flat out stink that is part of this huge run. Not to say they are not good, but they are certainly being aided by perhaps the easiest schedule I have seen for this length of time in my opinion.
