Vogelback can't be the answer he can't hit lefties, something the mets desparately need. Now can he be the guy to be a LH power bat off the bench and DH when a righty is in there. sure. Can he replace dom smith who has hit 0 homers in over a year. Sure.
One thing the GM Said is there are a ton of relievers available, but not as many bats. Pirates weren't gonna trade him unless they had holderman. I agree I think holderman had potential and didn't want to give him up, and don't love the trade, if they are thinking of vogelbach as a guy to hit righties off the bench and dh sometime great. But it still doesn't solve the problem they cannot hit lefties in my opinion.
