Agree, unless hedged with options.

IMO, puts are a preferred way to short low volume low priced stocks that could blast off any given morning on a buyout announcement.

I do not think it will reach a new 52-week low unless another DISASTROUS Q2 ER in August

Maybe... ya never know. IMO, even if the ER is less than disastrous, the stock will still be under pressure of an eroding general market and more specifically Biotech group segment.
Absent a BO, it will be very difficult for AMRN to attract sufficient buy side volume to win the ongoing war against the bears. Right now they're pricing in bankruptcy.
