Grew up in Middletown myself. The Holmdel city limits was like a 4-minute bicycle ride away. Dad worked for NJ Natural in Asbury Park then for ConEd in NYC.
Folks grew weary of the taxes, took their retirement and moved back to their old stomping grounds in Mississippi. Middletown was a good place to grow up though.
