The virus keeps shape shifting.

Omicron ba.5 is more infectious.

It's hard to know yet about how serious this is, but the notion of long covid, or the cumulative effect of multiple infections is concerning.

If we are seeing a lag in coverage in vaccines, or fewer people getting boosted, fewer precautions it seems likely that with more infections will come a need for a good antiviral.

Enanta may have a superior antiviral to Paxlovid, and it would appear that the need for one is going to increase. Fauci himself, had a case of what was called "Paxlovid rebound".

This is an example of the scary stuff I was referring to about BA.5:

Thanks Dew. This Covid virus is a real bastard.

Some of that thread is at the same level as the person I talked to yesterday that he thinks his 84 yr old mother and injured her L4/5 vertebrae due to mrna booster shots. Incredible claims out there. I have recovered from Omicron recently. Symptoms were mild. Tested negative 6 days after initial positive test. Had bone aches on day of positive test but no fever and felt well enough for normal exercise routine the day after positive test. The sinus and upper lung mucus generated cough lingered and gradually went away by 3rd week. I did notice brain fog when I played tennis (slower reaction times) that lasted a few days. Had 4x mrna shots prior to venturing into steam room at fitness center - BAD idea.
