Sometimes I wonder whether Apple may have jerked Li around, promising various things then backing out, perhaps at the last minute. Maybe TC sold Li on him being CEO by suggesting he'd do a better job with Apple negotiations?
Remember when Apple was going to do Sapphire face glass? That would have been a great time to come out with Liquidmetal as a frame. Then the sapphire company went tits up and we never saw Liquidmetal.
I'm thinking, too, of Ming Chou (sp?) saying two years ago that an Apple product was going to be totally redesigned with revolutionary new materials, or something along those lines. Then bupkis.
It's entirely possible that Apple screwed Li over and over again, and he couldn't say a word about it.
Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth.
Sometimes when people screw around they actually end up falling in love. Fingers crossed for a twisted love story that ends in a pot of gold.
