OK, I'm lousy at this. I was trying to come up with an “amateur” comparison between Newmont Gold and Barrick Gold. I am probably off on some of these numbers, so if someone much more knowledgeable were to help, that would be appreciated.

Newmont Vs Barrick
Total Assets 39.913 B 47.306 B
Qtly Income 3.023 B 2.853 B
Lg Trm Debt 6.106 B 5.13 B
Total Liabilities 18.282 B 14.68 B
Cash on Hand 4.340 B 6.527 B
PE Ratio 23.69 18.07
Price to Book 2.52 1.12
Profit Margin 8.53% 16.18%
Gold Rsv Eq. OZ 65.0 M 69.0 M
Shares Outstanding .794 B 1.8 B

There are 2.27 times more shares outstand for Barrick than Newmont

Perhaps some of my numbers are off, because I did see some different numbers presented on different websites. But from where I stand, Barrick looks to be the better positioned company. Currently NEM is priced at 68.71 and GOLD is priced at 20.60. I think "NEM" is way over priced relative to "GOLD." Where have I gone wrong?
