Yeah I agree, that thinking was misguided but perhaps in their mind it was the 'right' way to do a promotion. I guess they did not realize that beyond the disclaimers the promotional material also needs to be verifiable and accurate and it was impossible as it was still a shell company, there were no filings to back up what was being promoted.
