There are so many things wrong with your post about electric cars in cold weather. I can't even begin to say them all. Most have long since been proved wrong. Test have been run in really ugly cold and the batteries did not die overnight. FUD. There are you tube videos on this. Long lines for charging? Yeah, it can happen, but more and more chargers are being built every day. As numbers of EV's increase, so will "away from home" charging.
crazy horse: If an electric car battery is allowed to die, it will; however, you would hope the driver pays attention to remaining charge levels and reacts accordingly.
And note that IC cars can and often do run out of gas!
