Last Night's Show
Round 1
1) Huntergirl- Sang a decent version of the song. Wasn't a perfect vocal, but everything was solid for the most part. Grade B
2)Leah- In my opinion she was sour A lot of the song, and a pretty bad vocal. Perhaps one of the worst we heard from Her in my opinion. Grade D
3) Fritz- Was okay, but doesn't seem like his voice has fully recovered from being sick. Didn't love the song choice. Vocal was imperfect in a lot of part. It was okay. Grade C
4) Noah- Sang it well, and in my opinion picked the right song for him. Granted he doesn't have the power to sing from that song book, not that he had a choice in the matter. He did his best though, and was relatively solid, but wish he had a little more power in parts to pull it off. Grade B-
5) Nicolina- In my opinion sang the song very well, and it is not a easy song to sing, because of not only the power needed in the vocal, but the speed it is delivered in part as well. Overall did a very good Job in my opinion. Grade B+
Round 2
1) Leah- Better than her first song, by a country mile. Having said that it wasn't a perfect vocal either, and was overdone in a few part in my opinion. But overall slightly Above Average. Grade C+
2) Huntergirl-Another solid, but not perfect vocal. Often times when I hear her sing, I think, she will have ton of good performances, a few very good performances, And a few Average to Above Average. In other words, very consistant, will never blow you away, but at the same time you will always think for the most part she is Pretty good. I prefer the first vocal and song over the 2nd slightly though. Grade B-
3)Fritz- A decent, but unspectacular vocal, still believe his voice hasn't fully recovered, song was not the best choice, he is better with the emotional song choices, that is where he shines, not as much on a fast pace, upbeat song, where your not gonna get much emotion from that. Grade B-
4) Nicolina-Solid Vocal, having said that I didn't love the song choice here. She is without a doubt the best vocalist out of the 5 and it isn't even close, but rarely do I feel much from her, and other's are more likeable, as there personality shines through there performances more. Grade B-
5) Noah- Didn't love the song choice, found it a bit boring, but he sang well. So there's that. Grade B
I to be fair Had Nicolina, Fritz, Noah, and Huntergirl, pretty much in a dead heat, I like them all from an overall contest perspective, which is essentailly how I would judge at this point, it is not just about this week. Having said that I thought Leah Should of been Out, and any combo of 3/4 would of been fine in my opinion. But Leah, who gets through more because of style/personality and less because of her vocals, which especially last night, at times, were off, at times were sour, and times she seemed like she was screaming rather than singing. But she gets through with Huntergirl, and Noah. So there's that. That is my review for what it is worth. All is just my opinion and I could always be wrong though.
