Kiwi, does Germany typically pay less than Sweden for drugs? Does that piss of Sweden if they do, or is basically related to volumes (large pop and use in Germany)?

You are correct about seniors on Medicare using part D - they can’t use the coupon. I believe most by far are on a part D drug plan. I’m not on a part D plan but I am in the minority by far.

On another subject, what I don’t understand about the combo pill suggestion raised by a number of posters is this:

When my doc prescribes a drug, or I should say thinks to prescribe, she will broach the subject of cost. And if my cost is what I deem too high, she finds work arounds like either a generic or cheaper drug. So to me it seems like docs would subvert the combo pill if it was too expensive. Heck how many have just told patients to get otc supplements.

K-

if U go thru the formularies, most have GV at a lower tier then brand V …. Except Kaiser which has both at Tier 2

On Medicare U can’t use the coupons ( correct if wrong ) and most on V will IMHO be on Medicare.

I did not go thru ... did you? But let's assume Amarin did ...

As of March 31, 2022, through our offerings designed to be competitive with the current market landscape, we expanded coverage to approximately 45% of the total commercial and Medicare Part D lives on a weighted average basis, with VASCEPA as the exclusive IP product.

To the other topic:

Germany will want a lower WAC cost then Sweden

So we could assume that it will be higher than the US WAC (since Sweden is $180 vs (old) US $130/135). So how the higher - than US - WAC will be resulted in a lower margin ... You wrote:

The UK / EU will demand AMRN lower their WAC cost to gain access to these markets

This will mean lower margins ….

Best,
G

Kiwi, please provide evidence to back your statement about ‘ most formularies have GV on lower tier than brand V’. I searched the 5 or 6 of the largest payer Medicare formularies and posted them with links in early April. Did you search them or are you making an assumption. UH is the largest insurer and its coverage is as you say but most of the others have V on the same tier without PA’s or don’t cover GV at all. Please show me evidence that supports your statement. I believe it’s false. I’m only referring to Medicare formularies and the tiering and copay are great. The need for the coupon is unnecessary for most of them. Same with Kaiser. Hope this helps
