Thank you Troymister! I came across the concept of mindfulness at one point - I'm not that great at it but I am sometimes able to successfully apply the notion that there is nothing but the now. Applied to being with someone with a low grade brain tumor, who did not have a recurrence today, there is simply nothing to worry about. We are fine today, and that is all there is.

Worry of the future often does enter my mind that's for sure (and if you catch me on a bad day I would say it dominates my life) but it need not enter the picture because that is not the now that we are in. Again I don't always live this way but getting better, and it's what came to mind with your statement that today = the good ol' days, and I agree :)
