mdbq: To me there are pockets of cash that can withstand short-intermediate term volatility as long as the long-term potential is high. I define short-term as the Beta factor used in most analyst commentary. My time frame of volatility is much longer: say 20+ years. As long as I expect the portfolio to be higher in that time frame, short-intermediate term volatility is just noise.
