Trials cost money Hopeful; and they had their hands full, though they clearly hoped to get it further along a few times.

What I objected to was the awful language, describing rotting corpses rather than inflammation and the immune system doing its work.

Specifically:

“With Direct patients often respond by the tumors getting larger as they die much like a rotting corpse bloats.

In medieval and early modern times these and other signs of decomposition meant that the corpse looked more alive but sleeping to villagers and helped provide evidence to them that it was rising from the grave and feeding on people as a vampire.”
