Great find. Just like the other article from a week or so ago, I get a strong feeling that we are awfully darn close. These articles along with the upcoming PIC session description use language that would indicate that this is NO LONGER speculative but going to play a major role in the telecom industry, amongst other industry use cases.

We’re almost there boys and girls.

Thank you for tracking this down and posting. Another great piece by Lebby. Setting the stage.

Great article. Thanks

<<... For polymer modulators to be ubiquitous across the industry, key challenges must be addressed at record pace: developing advanced and mature electro-optic polymers, developing simple, standard fabrication in largescale volume, and implementing packaged modulator devices in commercial applications.... >>

I would think that polymers to address the communications issues (eg data centers) have already been developped to a satisfactory level.

So, this is my interpretation of the paragraph... that in order for this technology to be ubiquitous, or in other words in order to address new technological fields (lidar, medical, etc.) the above mentioned challenges have to be met (finding appropiate and specific polymers, PDKs, etc). I suppose that LWLG is currently working on that

I am aware that my understanding of the technology is limited, So, I just wonder if my interpretation is somehow correct.
