When I was working in international logistics in Toronto, maritime transport companies used to offer me leafs tickets. Not especially good seats, but in the 80's, every game was sold out even if they really sucked at the time.
So, I'd head down to the gardens with a buddy of mine well before game time and start trying to scalp them.
TICKETS! WHO WANT'S TICKETS?
Usually, before game time we got a pretty good price for them.
The next step was to wait for 15 minutes into the game and find scalpers with BETTER tickets that tried to charge too much and now just wanted rid of them for 1/2 the price we sold the crap seats.
If no deal could be cut, we took the cash and headed over to a bar not far away to drink some beers and watch the game on TV.....
