1. Affordability: You are absolutely correct. Until 2016 when I took the plunge, I was of the opinion that Teslas are ONLY for the wealthy. However, keep in mind that battery technology is improving, and will improve even faster with a larger number of humongous players entering the EV space. By the way Elon foresaw this in his Part 1 of the Master Plan!
2 and 3: Yesterday I watched Sandy Munro's teardown and review of the Rivian truck (actually Sandy did NOT do a teardown, because he used his PERSONAL truck!). Sandy and his wife Sue were impressed to the point of Sandy saying: "this will be the last vehicle I ever buy!" (see
) That was quite a change from his earlier opinions, for instance see
). To my knowledge that was the first time Sandy has endorsed a non-Tesla. So I definitely see your point. Now keep in mind, Tesla is still working on the Cybertruck and I think that by the time it is released, it will be a blowout!
In other words, I personally do not believe that Tesla will EVER have a demand problem.
