Not true in all instances. This trial started before Ala, so Ala is not relevant. Moreover, other trials also have placebo with the same treatment. You can't make unproven assumptions about patients living longer now just because someone says so on a bulletin board or in a blog or a badly written article.
I agree the patients need to meet certain demographic related qualifications. Not with every point you or ExW or similar want to make on that point.
The patients in this trial go back a long time. Every recent possible advancement, not yet proven, doesn't need to be accounted for to prove the placebo is the equivalent of what it would have been in the trial.
