I can think of another reason. I have no facts to back it up, but I don't think it is a slam dunk that JPM will buy COOP.

JPM may be about to pay for the assets they got when FDIC transferred them improperly, IMO.

It is possible that COOP was allowed to service those as a good faith demonstration until the payment was finally made.

Either way, it is strange that COOP (a servicing company) would give back servicing rights.

Very intriguing. So few facts. So much importance.
