Great point. And not just “in their neighborhood” but a *directly adjacent* property to their current high-yield production project. Another great detail here is that the current Amani management has done it before: developed and sold assayed land to Barrick Gold.

I do think it’s interesting that the balance sheet is getting cleaned up. Companies do this when a buyout is about to happen. It just makes everything cleaner and the transition smoother. Regardless, it bodes well for the common investor whether this is the case or not. Writing is on the wall though folks. Only 35 km away from Barrick’s mine. Logistically, it makes complete and total sense to purchase an asset flush with gold right next door to a major asset than halfway around the World with no infrastructure.
