Yes but you're jumping to conclusions citing the greater flool theory which would be predicated on trial failure or rather this operation being a scam. I don't think a widespread conspiracy of that scope would have remained unknown for so long. There's simply too many participants in the trial for them to not leak if this were a failure. Researchers are extremely competitive.
And there are countless examples of sophisticated investors that didn't invest (or lend money) when presented with the chance, only to find out they were wrong.
So for now... most of us are on the airplane while it's in a holding pattern, unable to determine at this time who really will be the greater fool.
