#62717 RE: Tesla thru the roof #62716

Then why do you keep referencing a misleading stat? You do understand that Tesla drivers, in general, are part of a demographic of better drivers that statisitically get in fewer accidents right? If the average joe were driving Teslas, the accident rate would increase significantly. This is part of the story thats missing from that stat. Also if more Teslas were on the road greater chance for normal accidents would occur; this is simple probability. Lastly, when you factor the fact that Teslas go out of control during geomagnetic activity, youd see far more accidents in Teslas, including per mile driven, than any other Western made vehicle hands down. This stat would be enhanced by more Teslas on the road to go out of control, again, simple probability.

There’s a common phrase that “numbers don’t lie.” This refers to the idea that statistics and data that are used to back up arguments are faultless. But even when numbers and data are correct, people and organizations with their own agendas can use them to mislead because they don’t tell the whole storyon their own.
