Nor is manufacturing in our wheelhouse. LQMT is a company with IP and a small sales staff. We are are incapable of serving as a manufacturing partner for Apple. They have access to our IP, and they don’t need our salesfolks.

A lot of good comments, but no hard proof of anything which is the SNAFU. I don't think Apple is ever going to buy LQMT, and I very much doubt they will be a customer. If Apple wants to be an EON and Yihao customer, and does not want to pay a middle man, the PLA can be cancelled, modified, or just ignored, via LL.

The idea that a third party vetted by Apple will buy LQMT
is a stretch, but interesting. If someone offered $1 or $2 everyone here would cheer, even if it turns out LL was behind it and did not want to try and buy the remaining shares, but would be in cahoots with the third party to take over the new company at a prix fixe.

That is a bit of an oversimplification. You are correct that Apple outsources manufacturing, but Apple engineers and product designers invent new ways of manufacturing products that were previously impossible to manufacture. Apple is far from just a marketing company.
