How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case.

The flip side of that is an interesting fact that I just read...Did you know that there have only been 4 years in history in which Americans have had a "negative savings" rate? The 4 years were the 2 preceeding the Great Depression, and the last 2 years - 2005 and 2006.

So maybe you won't be a millionaire by having money in a savings account, but you won't be on the soup line either.
