These two companies for years have been moving their ERP on-premise solutions to cloud-based solutions with subscription based licensing and revenue models. I believe it is due to their need for cloud datacenters, hyper-scalers, etc.
You can stand SAP environments on Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure, but SAP also has their own datacenters and cloud hosted services, so they should be a similar target datacenter market same as any other large datacenter.
SAP had excellent earnings and cloud revenue growth this quarter.
