I also recall the head of the DMC issuing a very emphatic statement refuting claims by various bloggers and others that an IA had been conducted and did not show any efficacy.

He said that in 2014. Later, LP would say that an IA was planned in 2015.

BTW the reason for the 2014 accusations was that LP was hiding bad news. That the trial would be expanded, no IA was being performed and longs hopes for TLD soon would be dashed. AF just guessed wrong on what the bad news was.
