I can not go there. My father came to ICU last Sunday with pulmonary infection. I have cancelled my trip.


I have a business visa on hand for China and Kiwa also confirmed an appointment. However, it would have been very difficult, I think impossible, to travel to Yangling these days.

Yangling is about 80 kilometers away from Xi‘An. And as you might have heard from the news, Xi‘An is total lockdown due to Covid. And before getting to Yangling, I had to fly to Xi‘An.

I have to wait till February after Chinese New Year has started.

I have been to China a hundred times already and I think I understand their mentality quite well. The period around Chinese New Year is the most important time in Chinese life. Chinese people are very superstitious and believe in „symbols“. I know that there will nothing happen in the old (Chinese) year. Because this would mean bad luck, for whatever comes. Maybe this sounds strange for you, but I am sure that we can not expect anything this month. Although this is very annoying.
