In other words, the “fork lift upgrades” to existing data centers would delay the need for additional data centers (and that capex) by years!

I have read that a typical data center uses the equivalent amount of electricity annually as 200,000 homes. At $1,500 a year per home, that is $300 million per data center. What I do not know is what percentage of the total power consumption is attributed to the current photonic modulators in the data center.

Great summary and thoughts on the unknown but likely very large potential savings Lightwave's technology will have for current Data Centers and utilities.

And during the covid's significant bottlenecks for chips, higher power costs, increasing bandwidth demands not seeing any immediate solutions for another 12 months, Lightwave's first PR announcement could be worded in a fashion to drawn big attention to its immediate solution.

Imagine how states like "California has an objective to achieve five million zero-emission vehicles on the road by 2030 and 250,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2025.."

The open question in my head still is what kind of volume of energy savings can Lightwave provide as they ramp up sales? I hope the company can provide these types of projections when they also provide their earnings projection model. Money savings ($$$) talk louder than words.
