For most of those 20 years they were attempting to utilize a biofloc system. Their dissatisfaction with that system is what lead to finding a different way to control water quality i.e. the EC system.

10Kg of shrimp per M^2 seems an odd unit of measure for a three dimensional system like grow out tank.

We don't know what the current stocking density is. The company thinks it is high enough to be profitable.

Since they are looking at the tanks, I'll go with their opinion.
