Great comment/observation StevenDice! Lightwave is in the sweet spot due to this ease of being added to existing silicon photonic PDKs for modulators or other devices. And, right now we are seeing a competitive battle going on too amongst the big chip makers with who's in the lead with more powerful/innovative chips. Lightwave's polymer will solve a big problem of today, in just days/months once an announcement is made and it goes into initial phases of production. Once the market catches on, it will spread like wild fire.
