The potential Samsung/Biogen deal strikes me as a foreign buyer looking for an underpriced, distressed asset and the seller's management, which had pinned its hopes and dreams on what turned out to be a complete loser, sees no way out of its troubles and is ready to hand its problems over to someone else.

It's not about us. Biogen couldn't even imagine Anavex as a possible solution or future deadly competitor. They were going down with their amyloid ship and are now looking for a tow.

Biogen did a deep dive on A 2-73 years ago under the MTA for the remylenation research program. The program apparently ended in failure since nothing further happened.

Biogen has a market cap of almost $38 billion. It is one of the most successful biotech companies ever. There are very smart people running the company with a strong track record of many more successes than failures. Biogen is well aware of Anavex. If Biogen thought Anavex had anything of real value or that Anavex was a competitive threat, they’d have bought the company at a premium long ago in a deal that Anavex’s board and shareholders would not / could not have refused. (Before you say that Missling would have refused, keep in mind that any serious offers to acquire the company would have to have been disclosed. None were.)

Enjoy your very creative fantasy.
