I know how the law can seemingly bend and twist, so with that said, I wonder if it could bend in such a way, as to allow for the company to award shares as compensation during such a period? If it was provable that this was the common practice of a company in the past, especially a regular intervals.

(Damn, I should have chosen law school. I'm good at this. lol)
