Lol. Over the years, I have vigorously tried to improve the ability to communicate simply and directly. Too often, lawyers communicate in such a fashion so as to obscure, and make life that much more difficult for the reader.

By way of contrast, I try my best to communicate simply and directly, through sentence and paragraph structure. How often does a message get lost in any form of writing, through a lack of paragraph structure?

I learned the lesson early on in my legal education, that jurors very much have a television mentality with short attention spans. Hence, the skill as a lawyer, is to seize audience attention by getting to the point.
