Now let me reiterate that buy-in of the SAP for consideration by FDA for appropriateness is not the same as approval of the SAP which is the final step that only happens when a treatment is formally approved by using it because of questions about proper implementation that might arise during the approval process. Peer review of methods and conclusions helps validate the proposed analysis before FDA would formally “approve” the SAP by approving the treatment. Peer review may be sufficient to get the update to the Clinical Trials site but it may also be that they feel forced to wait until approval. Not positive when they feel they can make that move.
