Your logic makes no sense. Trials cost money. The larger the trial the more expensive and typically the longer it takes.
Insurance companies will be quite happy for a blockbuster drug that saves them money in the long run. If Anavex is approved for AD it will save the country, Medicare, families and insurance companies a lot of money.
You may be altruistic and think that waiving patent rights makes sense but that would also mean that Anavex quits developing drugs since it wouldn't have any money.
Missling is presently pursuing the fastest route to getting 2-73 on the market given the financial restraints the company has.
Until some agency approves 2-73 it does very few people any benefit.
