IMO. Howe is just adding Sigma Labs’ PrintRite3D integration into the MetalFAB, as another of it's many integrations. "so you think: no needed but why they are mentioned it?"

Another example, also in the same article "Specifically, Howe says the firm has made progress in partnership with Japanese machining firm Makino, with which it has created an end-to-end process chain for scaling metal 3D printing."
Again, showing the multiple paths that the printer company is taking, many likely do not include Printrite3D.
