I ran into a person with a family business that makes performance motors for racing. My question to her was -

Is it time or will it ever be time in racing when electric motors overtake the internal combustion engine? Her family makes a product that may be obsolete with electric motors so I expected the answer to be no electric motors can supply the same explosive pulling power.

I am not a greeny or much of car buff but I would be interested in your take on the subject. Just curious.
