#413958 RE: drv17 #413957

I don't believe the Administration changes will increase the taxes on anyone with under $400K in annual earnings. Beyond that some added revenue will come into play if they achieve what they're after. I believe that we need to get serious about climate change and other infrastructure improvements, so I support their efforts. Unfortunately, too many politicians are putting personal and party interests above the needs of the country, and the world.

I'm very much a senior, climate change may not change my life, but I suspect that my kids will see major change in their lives. I hadn't realized how vulnerable Hawaii was until I recently saw beaches that I'd been to years ago that used to be wide that are now sand bags practically on the doorsteps of the nearby hotels. The same report noted how much coral is dying. We really need to act before this is totally out of our ability to do so.

I really believe that no one nation can fix what's wrong, but the U.S. is the one nation that can influence many of the others to act. Sadly, it requires our political parties to put the needs of the country and the world above the needs of their individual parties. I believe that politicians are elected to do what's best for the country, not the party, yet most of them won't even consider what should be done legislatively, they only support what the leadership of their parties suggest.
