I did some searching around the nanophotonics university site from your posted video, and discovered some very interesting research on "how fibre lasers can help save the planet". It is all about reducing energy needed for manufacturing by using light versus electrons transmission. Of course, I would assume there is a need for the Lightweight polymer at the EO interface if this research becomes a demanded reality. Lightwave and fibre lasers to the rescue! :-)
Then digging a little deeper in related laser company that photonicshubuk works with for laser products, and this is where Lightwave is targeting right now.
