T123

I would be in favor of including a complete description of Embassy, as indeed that did engender ETS (Embassy Trust Suite)...and the complete Embassy, including the chip, is still very much applicable to Wave's future. For example, if the TPM deployment is slower than the company hopes, Finread, Cubic, Maximus or even Colle-McVoy (TVTonic) could pick up some of the slack.

Tampa--Your post did not bother me, it was the Board's reaction to it that bothered me. I suggested to Ramsey was that he might want to engage in a debate with you in the hope that such a debate would bring some life and alternative thinking to the topic. What's wrong with that? I've been in countless such debates over the years; I'm ready to pass the baton to someone else. I've communicated privately with Ramsey, and had the impression that he could offer a healthy counter-opinion.

What irked me is that it appeared that no one intended to question your Introduction. I find that astonishing! I am bewildered! Actually beyond bewildered. Is Snackman willing to post an Introduction that doesn't even bother to mention what constitutes the central mission this company, namely to provide the essential technology that will enable Programmability/Interoperability of the Trusted Computing Platform? Sure he is. And will anyone strongly object? Absolutely not! Wavoids will be collectively mute. How could that be? Wavoids love to debate simple minded Bashers. But have you noticed that Wavoids dread to debate other Wavoids over fundamental issues? Trivial issues, oh yes. Substantive issues, rarely. Sorry, but that smacks of cultishness. And it is in that context that the boards passive stance perturbs me. You essentially reduced WAVE to a Utility Software company. Fine. You have a right to your opinion. And I know you can defend your position vigorously and with perfect aplomb. What bothers me is that no one is willing to counter your position!

The Introduction piece should be delayed until we have engaged in healthy and vigorous debate on the topic. Maybe a deadline later next week. I'd be happy to write my own Introduction; which few will agree with. But that's OK. I believe debate between Wavoids is healthy! I'd just like to see more of it, not on the trivial issues, but on the substantive ones.
