We maintain a patent portfolio that includes issued U.S. and foreign patents as well as pending U.S. and foreign patent applications which include claims directed towards our proprietary technology. We intend to pursue additional intellectual property protection to the extent we believe it would be beneficial and cost-effective. As of October 1, 2021, we owned approximately five (5) issued U.S. patents, approximately two (2) issued patents in foreign jurisdictions including one (1) in China and one (1) in Japan, and approximately 39 pending patent applications in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions, including in Canada, China, Europe, Japan and India.
